Its diverse casting is a relief, too, underlining Bridgerton’s willingness to modernise and shake up an often stuffy genre. It’s not all smooth sailing, particularly in its troublesome treatment of sexual assault in one unfortunately memorable episode in season 1. Work on Stranger Things season 5 is underway, with filming rumored to start in May 2023. The title of its first episode has also been revealed and its creators suggesting the final season will be its deadliest yet.

This three-season teen sitcom begins in 1994 in Derry, Northern Ireland, during the Troubles. Underscored by references to the real-life historical tension between U.K. Zoë Saldana stars in this emotional series chronicling one couple's tumultuous love story. From Scratch, based on Tembi Locke's 2019 memoir of the same name, focuses on Amahle "Amy" Wheeler (Saldaña) and her experience as a Black American woman marrying into a very traditional Sicilian family. This rom-com premise might seem like an easy watch, but be ready for a heartbreaking twist.

The shows below aren't just for the handyman or woman though, they are extremely well done, and can inspire, entertain, and provide a bit of comedic relief in this chaotic time in life. Fortunately, there are a ton of inspirational shows on Netflix to lean on and learn from as well. From Marie Kondo to Tiny House Nation, Netflix boasts plenty of home renovation, interior design, and fixer-upper shows for fans of the genre. This political drama follows a retired CIA agent (Téa Leoni) who is suddenly named secretary of state after her predecessor's untimely death.

It's full of compelling twists and turns, with Manifest's major players trying to get to the bottom of the mystery behind their disappearances. Season 4 part 1 – comprises 10 episodes – is available now, while part 2 arrives at a later date. Fincher is extremely hands-on, too, directing four episodes of season one and three of season two. Based on Michael Connolly's 2008 novel series, The Lincoln Lawyer stars Manuel Garcia-Ruffalo as Mickey Haller, a defence attorney who picks up legal cases across Los Angeles from the back of his Lincoln Town car. It's not always an easy viewing experience, but Ozark is a solid prestige drama with a great ensemble cast.

This crime procedural has received many award nominations, and Pullman's impressive acting skills are just one highlight. Tune in for the chilling and suspenseful stories that will keep you guessing.

If you're feeling cooped up in your own home, this show will make you appreciate every square foot you have. Each week, the 10 contestants compete to have the best makeover, as determined by the judges. What keeps the show interesting is the variety of spaces that are revamped, with everything from restaurants, to dorm rooms, to family homes getting a chance to be transformed. While Kevin Spacey's sexual harassment allegations ended up marring this slick, fourth-wall breaking slice of politics' dark side, it's still worth watching if you dig power games and the occasional backstabbing.

High Flying Bird tells the story of a sports agent facing the ax unless he pulls off a company-saving plan in 72 hours. Capturing the high tensions of professional sports through a unique shooting style, High Flying Bird is a fascinating piece put together with expert direction, editing and performances. Rebecca Hall makes her directorial debut in magnificent fashion with her adaptation of Nella Larsen's 1929 novel Passing.
While Netflix has become a lot lighter in classic sitcoms in recent years after the removal of the likes of Friends and The Office, Seinfeld to many is their quintessential sitcom. Netflix became the exclusive streaming home to the show in late 2021. Russian Doll has all the hallmarks of a great series, borrowing a tried and tested trope of reliving the same day over and over. Netflix pays through the nose for each season of the Walking Dead and there’s little question as to why. It’s just brilliant, albeit a bit slow in the middle of each season, which is why Netflix binging is by far the best way to experience the show.

If you like never-ending shots of astonishing home interiors, this one's for you. As the show's resident interior designer, Berk likes to truly get under his client's skin and show them that home improvement can be not only visually beautiful but can nourish the soul. In an interview with Metropolis Magazine, he confirms this philosophy, stating that he believes that "When people are happy in their space, it really spills out to the rest of their lives." We'd have to agree, Bobby.
Mindhunter brought cinema-quality visuals and strong character development to the genre, and took us back in crime to the 1970s as police began to track serial killers. Excellent acting and moody writing help make it one of the best Netflix series. Frustratingly, Mindhunter has apparently been put on an indefinite hiatus, so we don't know if or when season 3 will happen.

But with so many great shows to pick from, it can get a little overwhelming, and choosing one can sometimes take as long as it would to watch it.
