For some that’s perfectly fine, but for fall lovers like me it can be an exercise in patience! So I always had to come up with fall outfit ideas for warm weather, because the weather didn’t get crisp until November, or even December. Unfortunately, it’s still hot most days here in Philly. And….I haven’t forgotten about the fall fashion lovers that have hot weather all-year round.
Cotton sweaters are the perfect topper for a chilly night, but still work well with the lingering daytime heat. And, they can totally give off a fall look — trade the sandals for clogs and the cream colored sweater for a richer toned one. Though you might not be able to wear chunky sweaters and knits, you can still pay homage to our girl Rory Gilmore by wearing a sweater vest with wide-leg pants. Typically, sweater vests are layered in the fall, but the warm weather might make this a little more challenging.

I hope your weekend was fun…mine certainly was with the beginning of three grandchildren’s birthdays in a row. My skirt is from Loft and is a couple of years old. They usually come out with some variation of this skirt every year. Check your closet…you might have a black skirt that has gotten shoved to the back and forgotten about!
For what it’s worth — (in case you haven’t noticed) I despise the heat and love fall fashion, so I’ve been struggling with this topic on the daily. It’s been another fun challenge and even I can even say I’m feelin’ a little more love for the never-ending heat. Everyone would be wearing lots of color and “Mexican-inspired” styles…pretty typical wear in San Antonio….for a casual fall outfit. The next fall inspired outfit for warm weather starts with this smocked button front shirt by Knox Rose . This is a paisley print in fall tones that has a loose boho style. I sized up to a large because of the button in front, but if you are smaller up top then go with your normal size.

Chic coats, badass boots, allll the cozy loungewear. So, what does one actually do when it’s still hot? You can definitely do what I do and fight back by wearing fall clothes anyway. I will say…for this party…this was a perfect fall casual outfit. It worked and I did not get overheated at all. You heard right– corduroy is back with all the other 90s trends this year.

Though fall officially begins September 22, the weather doesn't always get the memo. Don't get us wrong—we love the warmer temps , but it can certainly make getting dressed for a new season a bit more of a challenge. Here in the south where I live, summer lingers well into October.
